Bisher hat Death Cab For Cutie-Bandleader Chris Walla sein Solo-Output unter dem Pseudonym Martin Youth Auxiliary veröffentlicht. Auf seiner Webseite kann man sie in Unmengen downloaden. Ende Januar soll vom „feuchten Traum“ aller Teenagerinnen und Teenager in praktisch allen Teeni-Soaps (OC California, Californication und wohl auch Gossip Girl (?)) nun aber das Debüt unter dem bürgerlichen Namen Chris Walla namens Field Manual folgen.

Das Album hat eine absurde Vorgeschichte: Im November wurde der Laptop von Chris Walla vom US-Zoll konfisziert. Ein möglicher Beweggrund wird durch den Vorab-Download „Sing Again“ deutlich.
